First Portrait Shoot

For awhile, I'd been wanting to push myself as a photographer and start trying new things. So I thought taking portraits would be the perfect new thing to try. I'd really only ever taken landscape or lifestyle photo's as I often travel alone and am always on the go. So I figured being in Ontario, with lots of friends I am comfortable would be the perfect time to do this. Thankfully, one my closest friends Katherine agreed to let me take photos of her. We drove to Elora around 3pm and ran around the small town shooting photos until the sun went down. At first we were both a little awkward, her having no experience in front of a camera and me having no experiencing taking photos of people. But after a couple photos, we started getting the hang of it. I was coming up with ideas and she was being a great sport with trying new things. By the end of it, she was suggesting things to do, and posing like a pro. It was a fun experience and proved to myself that I'm capable of photographing more than just a pretty landscape.
