Photoshoot with new friends

Its 2017, so I figured its a good time to start taking risks and trying new things. I've decided this year is going to be about pushing myself creatively, trying new things, taking risks and getting out of my comfort zone to create better images. I want to start focusing more on creating inspiring images this year and getting better at what I love to do. I want to use social media for the right reasons, to start networking and sharing my life rather than just scrolling through feeds for far longer than necessary. This year is going to be all about photography for me, actually putting hard work and effort into my photos and learning how to manage photos with travel. So to start it off, I saw that a photographer I follow on instagram made a post sking if anyone was down to shoot, so I messaged him. He replied back, and we set up a shoot. Vince (photographer I messaged), his friend Tristan, and a model named Sam came along too. It was my first time meeting any of them, and also my first time shooting an actual model. Not gonna lie it was a little overwhelming at times, but super happy I got out of my comfort zone and met some really cool and insanely talented people. Not 100% happy about how my photos turned out, but it was a good learning experience and getting to see other people shoot photos was cool too. I haven't had any opportunities prior to this, shooting with other photographers so it was exciting seeing other peoples creative processes and how portrait shoots are actually done. I now feel like I have more confidence when going about taking portraits, then I did at the start of this day. We took turns taking photos in various places around this conservation area, trying out new things and bouncing off each others ideas. To end the day, we built a fire down by the lake, enjoyed it until sundown and then parted ways for the day. Overall 10/10 day, even if it wasn't my best day creatively, I did something I'd wanted to do for a while now, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and I met new inspiring people. A good start to a new year.
